The Athens Area Junior Golf Tour held its first 2-day event of the Spring on April 29th and 30th at Lane Creek Golf Club with the Custom Mobility Challenge, presented by Pinnacle Bank. Players were faced with summer-like conditions on a challenging set-up; and several players - as well as entire age divisions - withstood the challenge among strong competition across the entire field.
The Athens Area Junior Golf Tour was presented with another beautiful Spring day -- albeit with some wicked winds -- as we held our 2nd event of the 2017 Spring Series on Saturday April 22nd at Double Oaks GC with the Epps, Holloway, DeLoach, & Hoipkemier Classic, presented by Pinnacle Bank.
The Athens Area Junior Golf Tour has completed the Boys' portion of the 2017 Athens Classic HS Golf Tournaments, presented by National Scouting Report. The Boys' event was conducted on Saturday March 11th at the University of Georgia Golf Course.
For the second year in a row, the Athens Area Junior Golf Tour experienced nearly perfect spring-like weather conditions as it kicked off its 2017 season at Lane Creek Golf Club with the Good Hands Veterinary Hospital 4-Ball, presented by Pinnacle Bank.
In similar fashion that was representative of just about the entire 2016 Tour season, the weather was warm and conditions were just about perfect as the AAJGT conducted it's 2016 GNSCS Tour Championship at the Landing Club at Reynolds-Lake Oconee this past weekend.
It doesn't get any better than this...ideal temperatures, good course, and intense competition leads to an exciting event, as the Athens Area Junior Golf Tour closed out the 2016 Regular Season schedule with the Allstate-Scott Beaver Agency Fall Finale at Lane Creek on October 22-23rd. The primary focus of the weekend was Tour Championship spots, as several players in multiple age divisions were playing for invitations in that prestigious event.
It was a well-deserved perfect day of golf on Sunday, as the Athens Area Junior Golf Tour held it's Fall Shootout at the Providence Club, presented by Pinnacle Bank. 64 players filled out the strongest field of the Fall Series - and what turned out to be stellar weather also brought a challenging course to players in every division.
In what has become a recurring theme since early May, the high heat & humidity and dry conditions were prevalent once again even in the 3rd event of the Fall Series. But that didn't stop the excellent play and drive among all players at the UGA Golf Course on Sunday in the AAJGT's Re/Max Top Performers-Frank Kelnofer Classic.
