BISHOP, GA- The Athens Area Junior Golf Tour held its first 2-day event of the Spring on April 29th and 30th at Lane Creek Golf Club with the Custom Mobility Challenge, presented by Pinnacle Bank. Players were faced with summer-like conditions on a challenging set-up; and several players — as well as entire age divisions — withstood the challenge among strong competition across the entire field.

While we had impressive showings among all 9 division winners, two in particular stood out in their age-division battles. In the Boys 16-18 group, Peyton Shedd of Athens fired a 2-day total 143 to hold off the charge from Will Ostergard of Marietta, who shot an unbelievable 67 to close within 3 shots. And in the Girls 12-14 division, Meredith Bennett of Athens was tied with Reagan Folk of Madison going into Round 2 — but closed strong with a 1-under 70 to claim the 1st place prize in that group.

ALL players showed great heart and desire in competing over 36 holes in tough conditions.
